There is a place I like to go and unwind. It’s a beautiful place with a valley of flowers next to a huge mountain and a stone path winding its way through. The flowers seem to grow all year long, gorgeous yellow, purple, pink, and lots of green. The mountain is far off in the distance, but somehow feels like I can reach out and touch it. It is beautifully magnificent. In the distance it takes on a purple and blue color, almost like its painted in the scenery. The path appears to be placed by someone’s hand. Beautiful stones placed strategically with enough space to make sure whoever takes it has sure footing on the way. I know this path leads to something great and magical, but when I come here, all I want to do is play in the fields of flowers and nap under the warm sunlight. I know I need to move down the path, but the times I have tried, it’s been dark, cloudy, and I can’t see very well. It has planted a “fear” in me over taking this path. So I play. The truth is this place is in my mind. I go here when I want to spend time basking in the joy of the Lord. The path is my path. The REALITY of not knowing what’s ahead on our paths can feel like a dark cloud of doubt. It can feel like we can’t see what’s ahead of us and when we look back its lit with light and understanding. It seems to make sense to look back and stay in the “comfort” of the past. The TRUTH is that we have a guide on the path and if we close our eyes and listen to the quiet, the voice of our guide leads us down the path with enlightenment and understanding. This truth can be for our own personal path or even the path of the entire world. Nothing we face is a surprise to this still small voice. There is complete understanding when we close our eyes, take His hand, and trust the steps. The other TRUTH is, it’s not going to be easy. It’s going to be hard, it’s going to challenge us, take us out of our comfort zones, and mold us into our best versions, but it’s also going to be so worth it!
